Refund policy

American V Twin accepts eligible return requests under the terms below. Contact us before sending anything back. Returns sent without written authorization or an RMA may be refused.

Return eligibility

Request a return within 14 calendar days after the item is delivered. To qualify, the item must be new, unused, uninstalled, unaltered, complete, and in resalable condition with its original packaging, manuals, accessories, hardware, and proof of purchase.

Email americanvt@gmail.com or call (561) 271-8311 with your order number and reason for the return. If approved, we will provide the correct return address and instructions. The return address may vary by product, so do not ship an item to American V Twin, a manufacturer, or a distributor until instructed.

Customers are responsible for return shipping. Use a trackable, insured service. Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return results from a confirmed American V Twin error or applicable law requires otherwise.

Restocking fees

Approved returns may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 20% of the item price. Shopify may display a 20% estimated fee when a return is requested. American V Twin may reduce or waive the fee after inspection based on item condition, packaging, supplier assessment, or a confirmed American V Twin error.

Final-sale and non-returnable items

The following are not eligible for buyer-remorse returns:

Audio, electronic, and electrical products, including amplifiers, speakers, receivers, lighting, electrical components, wiring and installation products, batteries, and chargers.
Items that have been installed, used, altered, modified, damaged, or are missing packaging, manuals, hardware, or accessories.
Custom, made-to-order, or special-order products after the supplier order has been submitted.
Engine internals, coilovers, turbochargers, superchargers, and turbocharger kits.
Clearance or otherwise marked final-sale items, gift cards, fluids, chemicals, hazardous materials, labor, services, and deposits.

A final-sale designation does not eliminate any rights required by applicable law or a valid manufacturer warranty claim for a verified defect.

Cancellations

Cancellation requests submitted within one hour of purchase will be reviewed but are not guaranteed. An order cannot be canceled after fulfillment has begun or the supplier order has been submitted. Special orders are non-cancellable once placed. If an order has already shipped, the return rules above apply if the item is otherwise eligible.

Shipping damage and shortages

Inspect every shipment immediately. Report shipping damage, missing items, or shortages within 24 hours of delivery. Include your order number and clear photos of the item, shipping label, outside packaging, inside packaging, and damage. Keep all packaging and do not install a damaged item until we provide instructions. Delayed notice or discarded packaging may prevent recovery from the carrier or supplier.

Defects and manufacturer warranties

Warranty claims are separate from ordinary returns. Manufacturer warranty terms vary by product. A claim may require troubleshooting, inspection, proof of purchase, and an RMA. Depending on the manufacturer, an approved remedy may be repair, replacement, a refurbished replacement, or a comparable model rather than a refund.

Improper installation, misuse, abuse, overpowering, incorrect impedance, clipping, modification, unauthorized repair, accidental damage, or poor return packaging may void warranty coverage. Removal, reinstallation, labor, and shipping costs are not automatically covered unless the manufacturer, American V Twin, or applicable law requires coverage.

Refunds

We will notify you after an authorized return is received and inspected. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method, less any disclosed restocking fee and non-refundable shipping charges. American V Twin normally processes an approved refund within five business days. Your bank or card issuer may require additional time to post the credit.
